Barbara Hogue holds a Ph.D. candidate in Education. The focus of her dissertation is the impact that a sense of belonging has on college students’ self-efficacy beliefs majoring in math-based sciences. While pursuing her doctorate, she presented and published two publications at the 2011 International Technology. Education, and Development Conference held in Valencia, Spain; in 2009, she presented and published one paper, held at the International Conference of Education, Research, and Innovation, Madrid Spain. She holds a Master’s degree in Biology and a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry. She started her career as a research chemist for the National Institutes of Health (N.I.H.), U.S.A. While at N.I.H. she co-authored 19 scientific publications. She then moved into the education field. In 2007 she was inducted into Cambridge Who’s Who for her outstanding professional accomplishments. She is also a member Kappa Delta Pi (2006), an International Honor Society.
